PGA Corner - RBC Heritage

Wow, an Englishman won a golf tournament in South Carolina, what a shocker! Matt Fitzpatrick, who apparently considers Hilton Head Island his second home, took down defending champ Jordan Spieth in a playoff to win the RBC Heritage title. Fitzpatrick had a tough battle, not just with Spieth and Patrick Cantlay, but also with the pro-Spieth crowd, who were probably more disappointed than Spieth himself. But Fitzpatrick held his ground and ultimately came out on top, securing his place in history as the first Englishman to win at Harbour Town since 1984. It's a good thing he didn't forget his 9 iron.

Get a Grip - How to hold your club like a pro (or a sloth)

Today, we're diving into the world of gripping your golf club with the expertise of a pro and the gentleness of a sleeping koala. Because, let's face it, if you don't have the right grip on your club, you might as well be swinging a wet towel.

First up, the Shake Hands approach. This friendly grip is like meeting your club for the first time, extending a warm "hello" while keeping a firm, yet tender, grasp. Palms in, fingers extended, let your club know who's boss without turning it into a stress ball. Imagine a bird in your hand, the Birdman himself. You want to make sure you keep her in your hands, controlled, smooth and relaxed.

Next, the almighty Vardon Overlap. Named after the golf legend Harry Vardon, this grip involves a sneaky little finger from your right hand (for righties) overlapping your left hand's pinky, creating a bond tighter than a pair of double-knotted shoelaces. It's the perfect grip for those looking to add some stability to their swings without inviting carpal tunnel to the party.

Finally, the Interlocking Grip. Imagine your hands as star-crossed lovers, fingers intertwined in a passionate embrace, ready to conquer the golf course together. This grip provides a sense of unity and connection that will have your golf ball singing, "I will always love you."
