Tee Time - Rocket Mortgage Classic

Cue the orange confetti folks! Detroit turned into a sea of Rickie Fowler fans as our favorite underdog finally silenced his doubters, pocketing a shiny win at the Rocket Mortgage Classic. He pulled off a 12-foot birdie putt in the playoff, slipping past his opponents like a sneaky squirrel on the fairway.

Fowler bid adieu to his career-long, 96-start title drought, wrapping it up better than his missed chances at the U.S. Open and the Travelers Championship. They say orange is the new luck, eh?

Morikawa's near record round sent Fowler scrambling down the leaderboard, only to have him ricochet back like a ball off a bunker lip. He answered with an approach on the 72nd hole that was more precision-guided than your high-end GPS, pulling into a three-way tie at 24 under.

In the playoff, Rickie played it out like a golfing version of "Survivor." Despite sending his tee shot way right, he got back in the game with a 12-foot approach. Meanwhile, Morikawa's shot, stronger than an espresso shot, ended up in the rough.

Hadwin missed his putt, and Morikawa's chip was as off as a caddy's advice on a bad day. The door was wide open for Fowler to swoop in and steal the show before Detroit's weather could even try to steal his thunder.

Through this victory, Fowler proved he's got the finesse of Fred Astaire on the dance floor and the tenacity of a pitbull on the golf course. As chants of “Rick-ie! Rick-ie!” reverberated around the 18th green, Fowler signed off, showing us all why we shouldn't give up on our Monday morning putts, or dreams.
